Osmundo Ponce has been under appointment as a mission co-worker with the PC(USA) since 1989. His most recent assignment began in April 2007, when he was invited by the Evangelical Church of Spain and the Reformed Episcopal Church of Spain to teach at the Seminario Evangelico Unido de Teologia (SEUT) in Madrid.

Osmundo was dean and taught pastoral studies at the Comunidad Teologica de Honduras (CETH), which was founded by the CCD and the Christian Reformed Church of Honduras.

From 1989 until moving to Honduras in 1999 Osmundo and Ana Ligia served the Presbyterian Church of Colombia. They were professors of biblical studies at the Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Barranquilla.

Osmundo received teachers training at Mazateco College in Guatemala. He then graduated from the Presbyterian Evangelical Seminary of Guatemala with a B.A. in theology. He studied at the Latin America Biblical Seminary before becoming a professor at the Evangelical Presbyterian Seminary and the Mariano Galvex University in Guatemala. He earned another bachelor’s degree from the National University of Costa Rica.
