YAV in Atlanta

I am resident of Port Deposit, Maryland. I graduated Towson University in the fall of 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in History. For the past three years, I have worked at a Presbyterian camp in Florida called Cedarkirk. Cedarkirk sparked my interest in helping at-risk and lower income children. After graduating college, I decided to join the YAV program so I could pursue my calling. This coming fall I will be working at charter school in Atlanta Georgia as an after school program coordinator. I will be teaching the arts, tutoring, and possibly starting a school garden. I will also be working as an intern at the Metro-Atlanta furniture bank.
The Young Adult Volunteer program is a year-long service program for young adults between ages 19 and 30. Read more about the YAV program here
