My name is Austin Langley. I graduated from Vanderbilt University in May 2011 with a Bachelor's of Music. I grew up in Mebane, North Carolina. I love to rock climb, swim, run, or participate in any activity that involves being outside. I felt a draw to the YAV program through my exposure to the campus ministry at Vanderbilt YAV placement. My junior and senior year I had the privilege of working with two wonderful life changing YAVs. I can only hope to have that kind of impact in my next year. In Guatemala, I was placed with the Open Windows Foundation which is a library system that provides many educational services. I look forward to many adventures and life lessons in my journey.
The Young Adult Volunteer program is a year-long service program for young adults between ages 19 and 30. Read more about the YAV program here
