This year I am serving with Sembrando Flores in Homestead, Florida. I will be aiding in their efforts to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS within migrant farm worker communities. We will facilitate after-school activities for the teens while addressing issues such as violence, bullying, poverty and mental illness. In addition, I will assist Sembrando Flores in their preparation for community health fairs to provide free HIV/AIDS testing and supportive services for families. I received my Bachelor's in Sociology from Coastal Carolina University, and couldn't be more excited to gain hands-on experience in a richly diverse demographic while growing in my walk with the Lord.

The Young Adult Volunteer program is a year-long service program for young adults between ages 19 and 30. Read more about the YAV program here
