Allison is spending the 2011-2012 year as a Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) in New Orleans, serving as a chaplains assistant at Ochsner Medical Center. Allison grew up in Davidson, N.C., attended Furman University and majored in religion, also spending two influential summers working at the PC(USA)'s Camp Grier near Montreat, N.C. This is Allison’s second year as a YAV. Her first YAV year was spent in Nashville working with Presbyterian Student Fellowship at Vanderbilt and Belmont Universities.
The Young Adult Volunteer program is a year-long service program for young adults between ages 19 and 30. Read more about the YAV program here
