I am from the beautiful Boise, Idaho but have called Spokane, WA home for the last four years as I completed my B.A. in Theology and Spanish at Whitworth University. During my time in college I continued to hear God calling me to work for his kingdom in one way or another. I tried out several majors like a typical college student, but settled on Theology and Spanish, feeling called to missions in Latin America. I got the opportunity to study and serve in Costa Rica for a semester as well as be involved as a coordinator of Bible studies and campus ministries during my time at Whitworth. At the end of August I will begin my year as a Young Adult Volunteer in Peru. I specifically will be working with Bridge of Hope Fair Trade Artisan Program. I get to spend my days with artisan groups located in Lima and the Andes. My work will involve developing relations with the artisans -- spending time with them, understanding their context, learning their stories, and eventually helping lead workshops on self-esteem, leadership and group dynamics. I will also be working half time with CENCA Instituto de Desarrollo Urbano. I cannot wait to jump into Peruvian life and serve this population!
