I am a 22 year old recent graduate from the University of South Carolina- Beaufort. I graduated with a degree in Communications Studies. I grew up in Beaufort, but attended boarding school in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Going to boarding school was my idea, as I have always been a traveler! I attended college at the University of Alabama for two years before transferring to the University of South Carolina. In Columbia, South Carolina, I discovered my passion for children and love for teaching. I worked as a first grade teaching assistant and substitute teacher at Shandon Presbyterian Child Development Center for a year before returning home to Beaufort to complete her degree. Back in Beaufort, I became an active member of First Presbyterian Church and worked as an after school childcare provider at Riverview Charter School. In December, 2012, I traveled to Uganda and Kenya on a two week mission trip with Visiting Orphans. This trip confirmed my calling to serve God in abroad. Immediately after returning from Africa, I applied to the YAV program, and just a few months later accepted the offer to serve in Mabinay! I am so excited about this opportunity and continue to be humbled at the work I sees God doing in my life.
