Call to prayer and fasting for the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian

November 17-18, 2012

Presbyterian World Mission calls on all members of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) to pray and fast November 17-18 for our global partner, the General Assembly and synods of the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP).

The CCAP is one of the largest Presbyterian denominations on the African continent with five synods in Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Kafumbi Njewa, CCAP General Assembly Secretariat in Malawi, writes:

As you prepare for the prayers and fasting I would like to you to focus on what Paul says in Colossians 4: 1-6 —

"Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair,
Because you know that you also have a Master in Heaven,
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful,
And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message,
So that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains,
Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, and I should,
Be wise in the way you act towards outsiders,
Make the most of every opportunity,
Let your conversation be always full of grace,
Seasoned with salt,
So that you may know how to answer everyone."

May we all respond and knock on the gates of heaven with a unanimous aim of unity.
