Affiliated with the Presbyterian church for over a century, Miraj Medical Center serves the population of a vast rural area, regardless of faith, caste or ability to pay. Miraj offers the services of a maternal and child health center, a burn unit and is the only hospital in the area with facilities for neurosurgery, cardiac surgery and hemodialysis.

Ophthalmologic and dental surgery and an orthopedic center are also available. The hospital provides a nutritional rehabilitation center for malnourished children and mobile clinics for children under five and pregnant women. A nursing school has trained students for over 50 years.
