Central Africa Regional Liaison

Funds will be used for operating, travel and administrative expenses for the work of the PC(USA) liaison working in the Central Africa region (Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon). The liaison helps implement agreed-upon programs with partner churches and institutions while supporting PC(USA) congregations and presbyteries in direct mission involvement with partners. The liaison also gives practical, pastoral and culture/language transition support to other PC(USA) mission personnel serving in the region. Particular focus is on Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo and Equatorial Guinea.

The Christian Education Department of the CPC is tasked with developing training materials for laity and clergy and for implementing various training opportunities across the church. Regular visits to the churches are one of the tasks of the department, which seeks to serve a church membership of 2 million Christians. The Christian Educator and Evangelist works with the Presbyterian Community of Congo (CPC) as part of the Christian Education and Evangelism Departments. The mission worker accompanies colleagues from the CPC in the visioning, planning, and implementation of the various Christian education and evangelism programs of the Presbyterian Community of the Congo. Kristi and Bob Rice are currently filling this position.

Congo Presbyterian Church Educational Ministries

The Presbyterian Community of Congo (CPC) manages more than 750 primary and secondary schools and considers this a priority ministry. Over 82% of schools do not meet in durable buildings. Contributions to this ECO will help the CPC with the priorities they have set; furnish schools with teaching materials, train teachers, provide safe and durable facilities, assist school supervisors with transportation to distant schools and help increase opportunities for girls to get quality education.

Education For Kinshasa, CPK

The Presbyterian Community of Kinshasa (CPK) has set basic education as a priority area of ministry. The CPK shares the Good News in its 134 schools. It also builds up leaders and lifts the wellbeing of communities. Contributions will be used to buy teaching materials, make repairs to school buildings such as putting roofs on rural thatched roof schools, support in-service teacher training, and assist the transportation of school supervisors.
