Let’s Get It Started
National Evangelism and Church Growth's 2013 conference │ September 16 – 19, 2013 │ St. Pete Beach, Florida
Our conference theme Let’s Get It Started relates to much of the work we do and what is happening in the church today. 1001 new worshiping communities, church renewal through new beginnings, disciple-making that transforms and strengthens existing congregations – all are happening as God’s spirit builds a capacity for our churches and leaders to start something new.
To help those attending this conference understand the particulars of starting something new in a given context, we are approaching ECG 2013: Let’s Get It Started differently.
Our two keynote speakers, Deb Hirsch and Doug Pagitt are missional pastors and pioneers. – Each of their plenary presentations will be followed by an opportunity for small group discussion, with two options:
- General, random groups will be guided by questions from our speakers.
- Affinity groups made up of leaders of a particular group will guide the discussion. Examples of affinity groups are leaders of 1001, Hispanic/Latino, Korean, multicultural congregations, small church pastors, etc.
We will also offer larger group teaching sessions around topics common to starting new things, “clinics,” which cut across our work. Conference goers will have three opportunities to take one of the six clinics.
There will be four different workshop times throughout the week (90 minutes each). There are language specific workshops; others focus on New Worshiping Communities, Disciple Making, Collegiate Ministries, Youth Ministry, and more. We’ll also have random workshops available to those who don’t want a specific workshop but would rather pick and choose a variety of things.
I am interested in attending this conference in the united states next year What must i do to attend thanks Pastor Nathaniel George Komba
I am interested in attending. It's exciting to see our focus on discipleship as the starting point for Evangelism.
