Old Bergen Church, Jersey City, N.J.

Old Bergen Church was established in 1660 by a group of Dutch immigrants. For over 350 years it has been serving that same community now known as Jersey City. These days it is home to a handful of descendents of those Dutch Reformed settlers; 24 percent of the congregation is Caucasian. It has also become home to numerous individuals and communities that include a new generation of immigrants who now reside in the Journal Square neighborhood a short train commute from Manhattan.
