Welcome to the Office of Church Growth of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Our office produces and identifies resources for congregations and middle governing bodies that are helpful in growing healthy, missional and vital congregations.
Church Growth works in partnership with pastors, committees and middle governing bodies to provide training, materials and consultation in planting and growing new congregations.

The Gallup/SRI Online Mission Developer Assessment is intended to give you an initial comparison between the way you work in ministry and the way that successful church planters and redevelopers from several of our partner denominations have approached their work. It seeks to measure your “innate talents” for the work. It should not be seen as a “pass/fail” but as a guide to help you think through whether you will find joy and satisfaction in the work or possibly experience frustration and disappointment.

Starting New Initiatives
The Office of Church Growth is pleased to announce the arrival of our hotly anticipated Congregational Transformation discernment process. Like the “Starting New Churches” resource for New Church Development, “Starting New Initiatives” is not designed as a “quick fix,” but rather, is a process of prayer, discernment, conversation and reflection for congregations to decide how they can best minister in their particular context(s).
