Development and Disaster Relief, Nicaragua
Carlos Cardenas is filling this position, serving with the Council of Evangelical Churches of Nicaragua (CEPAD) in development and disaster relief. He travels all over Central America in the event of a natural disaster. Raised in a Marxist-atheist context, Carlos experienced a spiritual awakening through his contact with Quaker relief workers. "I crossed an important bridge when I could say to myself that I'm here in this world because of God's will. I found a way to come back to God through community service to those suffering in hopelessness and need."
