The DOOR Hollywood YAV program is open to young adults, aged 19-31, looking to deepen their walk with Christ by living in an intentional Christian community while serving in a very direct way in our city. YAVs live at La Casa de la Comunidad, practice receiving and offering hospitality in a predominantly Latino/Hispanic neighborhood, and work to provide dignified care and attention to some of our 90,000 individuals living homelessly in LA County through full-time agency/ministry internships. In addition to these responsibilities, Phyllis is coordinator for the PC(USA) Young Adult Volunteer program in Kenya. Her witness and work has tremendous impact on numerous lives in Kenya as well as future leaders in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

YAV Site Coordinator/HIV/AIDS Youth Specialist, Zambia

This project is for the sending and support costs for the YAV Site Coordinator/HIV/AIDS Youth Specialist, Zambia who has the responsibility for implementation and promotion of the YAV Program in Zambia and for assisting the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) Zambia HIV AIDS department coordinator in planning HIV/AIDS programs targeted to youth (15-35 years old) and building the capacity of volunteers to implement planned programs. The HIV/AIDS department in Zambia has 17 day care centers and 22 home based care centers. Nancy Dimmock has been called to this ministry.
