Bering Witness Mission To The Russian Far East

The Yukon Presbytery, in ecumenical partnership with four other denominations, is preparing and sending Yupik (Eskimo) evangelists to the native peoples of Siberia. New believers from Siberia have come for several of training and encouragement to serve as house church leaders and Bible study leaders in their home villages. The goal is to establish an indigenous, self-sustaining church among the native peoples of the Chukotka Peninsula of Siberia.

Bethel Evangelical Secondary School is a premier institution with a reputation for producing well-qualified graduates. With 335 students now attending, funds are needed for improvements, a new library, a laboratory and the replacement of underground water pipes. Gifts to this project may also assist with necessary related project expenses that are essential to the successful completion of this project, such as mission personnel, travel and administrative support.

Black Forest Academy Recruiters, Germany

This position is being filled by Jay and Nancy Adams, who have served for more than a decade at the Black Forest Academy (BFA) in Kandern, Germany. This school serves the children of missionaries and international business families who want a U.S. curriculum taught within the Christian worldview. BFA has 350 students in grades 7 through 12. Of these, 200 are boarding students. The Adamses are in charge of recruiting teachers for BFA, a task they have done since the fall of 2006 from their home in North Carolina.

This project is to provide food aid for people who are suffering from hunger and malnutrition through the Bongsoo noodle factory in Pyongyang, A large number of people live on less than two meals per day in North Korea. Fifteen cents produces three bowls of noodles, which feed three persons per meal.

Bread Of Life

Bread of Life is an initiative to support the feeding programs of partner churches around the world. In a general context of deteriorating economic circumstances, increasing poverty and hunger, partner churches overseas are challenged to respond to the immediate crisis with direct food relief in the form of church and school canteens, "people's restaurants," meals on wheels for shut-ins and the distribution of food for home preparation. Such programs often form the core of the churches' outreach.
