“Create in me a clean heart, O God.” —Ps. 51:10

Young Adult Volunteer Site Coordinator for South Korea

As coordinators of the Young Adult Volunteer program in South Korea, Kurt Esslinger and Hyeyoung Lee mentor the YAVs in their year of service providing training, education, guidance, pastoral care and support for the young adult volunteers. They also seek to facilitate the building of an international Christian community among the YAVs. The YAV site in South Korea is based on the campus of the Presbyterian-related Hannam University. The YAVs help extend the ministry of the university in the surrounding community through their work with children and families who are economically poor. Many of the people served by the YAVs are recent immigrants who face discrimination and exploitation.
