Missions Facilitators, Philippines

This project funds the sending and support costs of mission workers to serve as mission facilitators with the United Church of Christ in the Philippines and Silliman University. Carlton (Cobbie) Palm has been called to help coordinate joint initiatives between these two partners. As part of this role, he will lead a team to develop and nurture a continuing education development program for pastors of the UCCP; serve as the international representative to the Philippine Ecumenical Peace Platform, an ecumenical formation of church leaders and lay persons in the Philippines calling for peace talks and reconciliation; coordinate the Silliman Water Ministry, a project that provides clean and potable water to poor and marginalized communities; and actively participate in the evangelism endeavors of the campus and the broader community. Dessa Palm has been called to coordinate the UCCP's theater ministry, Theater for Evangelism and Advocacy. The objective of this ministry is to train church workers and members to creatively communicate the gospel and bear witness to the transformative role of a caring and compassionate church.
